ODST

I've been playing a lot of ODST, the new Halo game released last week and I sincerely wish it wasn't just science fiction. As an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) soldier, your job is first line offense. You arrive at the planet you are invading and are dropped in from orbit in your own personal pod full of guns and ammunition and supplies for several weeks. Their job is secure a location for a temporary base so the larger force of infantry and vehicles can safely land and unload. They also wear armor of considerable quality and have a pretty sweet built-in HUD in their helmets.

  1. Nice choice! I have been playing a bit of ODST myself. The voice acting of the main characters really makes this story great for me. It adds quite a bit. Gameplay is great; I missed the original Halo pistol and this game makes that style of shooting a big part again. Haven't finished the story yet, when I do we should talk reactions. Have good games till then.

  2. Can you write about why you love gaming, ODST and otherwise? Is it like acting? Like reading? Is it the imaginative adventure? The adrenaline? The safety? The ability to be alone but feel like you're not? What is it, specifically, for you? What was the first game that really did it for you and why? What games do you connect with most? Lots of questions, I know. But it's really interesting to me, people's gaming lives.
